That's not the vent I was talking about, but the one I was talking about is probably used too if they added AC.

Do you have a pic of the vent you are referring to? Most of the squares I've messed with were AC trucks.

Tore down the original bench seat to see what the damage is going to set me back. The upholstery will be in the $200-250 range. Some of the broken springs I can repair but there are a couple that are broken and the pieces were thrown away by the PO. Hopefully I can find them somewhere. Everything else is in good shape. The bearings need new grease, but that's going to be the easiest part. The foam has some areas that will need to be filled in also.

I'm on a different computer so I don't have access to my pics so I'll use this one that was just posted.

See the billet band on the passenger side of the dash. Those slotted cutouts are AC vents. Normally on NON AC Trucks, you don't have a vent where there is one in this pic just above the ashtray or the center of the dash.

Cool, there you go then. Mount that thing right there. The metal dash behind that pad is open so it'll work fine. I've seen guys on NON AC trucks where that vent isn't used, install their stereo, or Trio Gauge Set.

EDIT, oh wait, you say it DOES use that vent. Thought I seen doesn't. Fuggin glasses are scratched badly. :happy175:

Installed a new gear reduction starter Friday. What a friggen difference!!! It turns over FAST. For $48 I think it was money well spent too!

Also did the PEX mod on the door strikers - what an improvement, I should have done that years ago! Thanks @HotRodPC for the idea!

Replaced the power steering lines on the GMC in hopes of fixing a leak. Also have an edelbrock carb and intake manifold I scored for $100 to clean up.

Where'd you get the starter from? Nice horsie toys on the bench lol. At first glance I thought it was a dead squirrel or something.

Thanks
