Looks good! Are the needles a lot darker than the speedo or is it just the glare?

Yeah, everything painted orange on the speedo is faded after 34 years.

I've been cleaning up one of the alumninum valve covers on the LS 5.3 i'm going to put in. Cleaned with parts cleaner, dremel molding imperfections with 80 grit wheel. Then went to (by hand) maroon/green scotchbrite and 120/220 grit sandpaper as needed. Then I hit it with the grinder w/buffing wheel and the green rouge. Still has some imperfections (some that I created with the 80 grit) but it's looking a lot nicer. Once I figure out all the steps, I'm thinking I can polish one up in under 2 hours. We'll see. I think I'll get one of those cheap oscillating tools from harbor freight to eliminate the hand sanding.

Aluminum polishing tales a lot of time and elbow grease...but the end result makes it well worth it.

My problem is I don't like elbow grease if there's an easier way to do it. That might be one reason they made chrome LOL.

Mine need some cleanup work and recoated as well. I'm going back sliver though or maybe a gunmetal color. I will have to see what they have at the powder coater I guess.

Installed marine grade USB-Voltmeter-12V power plug combo. It's temporarily installed in the radio hole until I can determine a more permanent location.

You don't have AC, so I'd put it in the dash band just above the ashtray where normally an AC vent would be. The metal part of the dash is already cut out since an AC vent would have went there if it were an AC truck.

My truck has dealer installed AC, so that vent is in place.
