RockAuto delivers front and rear brake pads.
it's 45F outside but hey, got a wood stove in the garage right?
only 1 light bulb and a trouble light but don't complain, be thankful, fix the brakes and drive on suckah!

fronts are done, passenger side inner was the noise maker.
put a little stop juice in the jug.
hey, pedal goes to the floor, what have i broken?

take a wheel back off.
mind you, not the one i forgot to put the hub cover on the first time.
(hub cover is held on by the lug nuts)

nothing dripping or spewing, but at least i'm freezing right?

more stop juice, a WHOLE CAN of stop juice, no pressure build.
stupid, stupid 'monkey!

fine, i quit, i hate everything.

pull truck out of garage and slam/pump to get truck to stop more or less.

clean up tools, GIANT pool of stop juice where the rear differential would have been.

what the stinkin' monkey poo is that for ?

when i set the parking brake to start this 30 minute fix, that was the last mashing rub the line could take.

see, my 2005 white dodge hemi ram quad cab 1500 lmnop has the parking brake clipped to the hard brake line.
which is forced onto a cast rib on the differential.

operate the parking brake, push the hard line onto the cast iron 'sharp corner'.
sweet!

anyway, i know i should be happy it happened in the garage and not the highway but i'm an old broke down cav trooper that hates any minor inconvenience.

this poor truck is my daily driver when i don't ride the motorcycle, meaning it sits a LOT.
it is also my wife's 'backup' rig since it has an automatic transmission.
(she has rebuffed my offers of manual shifting lever manipulation instruction)
(yes, 'monkey still knows words)

;)

i plan to double flare a splice in. the 'ends' of the broken line look like they'll destroy what they're screwed into if i try to put in a pre-bent 'kit' piece.

sorry to cry like a big fat baby
