My next best guess would be that considering the mileage, the coil is breaking down at high RPM's.

I have one I'll let you have cheep! Whole ball of wax! Just put a new IM in it! Works great (even at high RPM's)!

The coil and distributor are original to the truck, so im sure they're worn out

Ok. Checked the codes @Rusty Nail , i got


Flash , flash, long flash, flash
Then
Flash, flash, long flash.



Following that, i got a regular code,
Flash, pause, flash flash (12)
Flash, flash, flash, pause, flash flash (32)


Weird. It speaks in morse and obd1?

ANYWAY
Wez allz knowz code 12 is just no rpm signal cuz the trucks not running!

The more important code........

The rubber diaphragm is leaking, doesnt hold a vacuum.

Ive had egr SES lights since ive had it lol

I can't believe that I didn't think of the knock sensor. When mine went out in the SS it acted like that no power at higher rpms. Guess I just didn't think about them being in a square motor unless it had been a ls swap.

When dude said his engine is 10.5:1 ? that was a clue, Blue.
