The NP208 will need a 32 spline input shaft. I haven't looked but they are usually available about 80 bucks and pretty easy to change out but people have been reporting they are backordered, so YMMV. I think after that my understanding is that if you have a 4x4 6l80E then all you needs is the Tcase adapter you would use for a 6l80E on any of the LS trucks around 2012, and perhaps it is the same as anything previous with a 4l80E. Part #'s should match if so. You end up using 5 out of the 6 bolts which is plenty and It's only around 50 to 50 bucks last time I checked. So far as I know there really isn't any reason to buy one of the "adapter kits" unless you just want to be able to clock the T-case and have money to burn, in which I guess the Advanced Adapter kits are for guys who are afraid to take apart the transfer case and change the input shaft or something? I'm not sure to be honest. I have seen a video where a fellow took a 6l90E 2wd and shortened the shaft and bolted it to the np208 with the adapter from the donor and also seen 4l80e 2wd conversions doing the same. IN order to get digital speed signal from the np208 you will need an output converter from someone like dakota digital, they have 2 units, one is a pass through and VSS, for if you wish to retain your mechanical speedo, and another just does VSS only, and the design behind that is you run the VSS signal to your ECU and then the ECU will output to a speedo that comes from a 1990 to 1991, K5, Burb, or Crew cab (maybe 89 too but I am unsure on that year being included). This fellow is working on a 6l90e conversion to his np208 so perhaps worth a watch, but he seems to be starting with a 2wd transmission. I think if you ask around and do some research and find out what the shaft length difference is between the 2wd and 4wd that will answer the adapter/spacer question.
