Very sorry to hear that.
I hope you recover your investment from the insurance company.

Not a short box, but nice. On Facebook
And since we are here, how do you put a tracker on your truck. I think I will put in a hidden master cutoff switch in mine, Break my heart to have my restored truck and new 489 motor stolen.

Wow - that really sucks man. I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to hook you up tho'.

anybody have any reviews on gps trackers. Looked at these a while ago, and they all seemed to have some sort of shortcoming. Tech changes quick tho .. any good reviews ?? Cheers

Is there a thread here that discusses which is the best “club” to get? There are a bunch of different models.

On January 17, 2025, my 1987 Chevy Silverado SWB was stolen, 12 noon, right out of the parking lot of the government building where I work. Security was not alert and our cameras are too old to zoom close enough to get a tag or facial recognition. The good news is that our Capitol Police found it the next day. The bad news is that all they found was the stripped cab. Picture attached.

This sucks. I am heartbroken over it to say the least but I've embraced the suck and recovered enough to start looking for another '87 SWB. So email me if you have something or know of one for sale.

A word to the wise, put a kill switch and a GPS locator on your vehicles. Don't take the chance of thinking someone doesn't want it or it's too ratty to steal. Someone is watching you. Someone near you wants your truck. Believe me. My false sense of feeling it was safe allowed this to happen. Don't let it be you!

You must be registered for see images attach
So sorry for you I have an 85 red SWB 4 WD pickup I would be devastated to lose that way. These are scumbags to say the least. They sure picked the carcass bare. Guess they know from prior crimes what to do and how to go about it quick.

Thank you! If it's what I want, then I'll go as far as I have to, or trailer it.

My budget is around $30K+/-. I'm looking for a daily driver but in good to great condition. Absolutely no rust.

I hope to not "repair" anything for a while. ;)
With pricing for our square bodies a bit weaker of late, with your budget you should be able to find something even nicer than just a daily driver. I see some all the time in that range but since I already have one of my own, I don't go to look at them. Best wishes fellow truck lover.
