This year. I spoke with Precision a few months ago and the sales guy let it slip when I was lamenting the lack of availability. He said it was in the works I just didn't expect that fast.

Thanks for the info !, I’ll be first in line. Finally they got wise to the demand.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a question. My 78 needs the rubber, felts, and latch replaced. I also picked up a slider off an 80s model from a scrap yard. I see rubbers like the one above that state "fits 84-91 OE sliders", so my question is this: Is there a difference between 73-83 rear windows and 84-91?
I'm pretty sure my window is a factory - or at least dealer - option. It looks just like the aluminum ones from earlier in the thread...

Factory rear sliders have a frame that’s about 1/2” thick and have a larger glass area & require the gasket with the wide channel. (Now sold by Precision Rubber Products). The aftermarket and Dealer installed units have a larger frame (usually aluminum) with a Flange that is the same size as the solid glass rear window and uses the same gasket as the solid glass with a narrow channel. Here’s pics of both. *and as a side note.. I’m sure back in the day, some Dealers installed the factory style sliders when those units were available.

So the aluminum brightwork window in the Big10 there at the bottom is dealer option style? That looks like what mine has.

So what precision part number fits the rear window pictured on the "big 10" truck pictured above?

I believe Precision has them now. I was also told the original gasket would work but don't know. When I bought an OEM slider a few years ago, I got the gasket with it. Only paid $100 for it and it came off of another 84 so lucked out. Sorry this is a late post.

this is the 84+ factory slider that they made a seal kit for

Precision does NOT have a seal kit for a 1973-1983 at all, i checked. the one there says specifically not for slider factory

Yes,.. your photo shows a Factory Slider. Notice it doesn’t have the wide aluminum frame like this aftermarket slider.

This is the response from @TotalyHucked…

just to add a note, the back glass opening/back cab panel is the same '73-87. The glass shape and the seals are all the same, the only change is '81-up went to slightly thinner glass to save weight in order to help meet CAFE standards. Even though the later glass is thinner, it's only a MM or so difference, so the gaskets are all the same from '73-87.
