I think the dryer vent looks better.

Hmm,, If you had a floor console I wouldn't think it would be too big a project to run ducting to the back window and defrost both it and the side windows the from the rear.

The trick would be to make the plumbing look decent and if there is enough airflow to pull it off. Booster fan?
Or maybe easier just to get an electric heater/blower behind the seat and plumb it from there?

You have my wheels spinning, I could do something like that and not permanently alter my mostly original truck.

Did the 88-94 dash setup have side defroster vents? I feel that style was still very similar to the 73-87 dash

I’d go with adapting the stock dash or @86Apache ’s idea. No offense to any nbs guys, but those other dashes are fugly.

If that 94 dash fits tho...you could easily redesign the main cluster/HVAC/radio area. It just a big rectangle lol

I have a 94 sitting in a drive way if you just need the width measured

If you get the chance to please. I would assume the most important things are width and steering column placement. I measured from center of the column to the left. And across the top and bottom of the dash for max width available. Just out of curiosity I also measured the depth across the top.

Man, I don't know. That sure seems like a lot of hassle and expense that may not be needed. My setup works great, and it was free. You just have to make sure to get the inlet of the hose positioned correctly, so the windshield still gets some heat too.....

Call me crazy, but wouldn't you think it would be easier to figure out how to tap a couple of small hoses into the existing ductwork than trying engineer in an entire dashboard and instrument cluster that was never designed to fit the truck?

Big Chip I've been looking at stuff similar to that for a pot cheaper lol.

Blue Ox I completely agree. I need to see if there's even enough space to between the dash pad and substructure to run duct work to each end.
