You ordered Bird Dogs? I guess the Interco site lied to me, I thought they only had them in a 15" rim so far.

Yep, ordered them. A lot more expensive then I was thinking of spending but there just isn't anything else out there like them.

Guess the company is weird about making them. Right now they are only making 15" but on occasion will start making them in other sizes and bolt patterns (over the last 6 years or so).

Well- so much for that. They canceled my order without saying anything. Logged into the website to see what the status was- and the order was gone.... like it didn't even exist. Called them up and they canceled it. Discontinued.

So- my only options are OMF wheels which will modify a "standard" 16" aluminum wheel and turn it into a beadlock, or buy very heavy steel 16" beadlocks that will rust horribly, or get rid of my existing 16" setup and then buy a 17" setup as there are options in 17".

All of those options are not that acceptable and cost too much money at this time. My tires are only 6 months old.

Lesson learned: 16" tires/wheels are NOT a good option of you are more into the "hardcore" offroad where you want to air down to single digits.

Which is dumb. Why give up 0.5" of sidewall for a 17" rim??

Well that's disappointing.

15's were the go-to choice for so long, so there wasn't much need for 16's. But now that brakes have gotten so much bigger on everything, 15's just plain won't work anymore so people were forced to upsize, at a time when all the newer stuff was starting to run 17's. So people skipped over 16's and went straight to the 17's. That's my take on it anyway.

I agree with your statement- I guess I just thought 16" was popular because it was offered for longer. If you do a search on Summit Racing for wheels then look at the wheel diameter selection is shows it pretty plainly.

15 in. (51,330)
16 in. (3,317)
17 in. (23,752)
18 in. (16,844)
19 in. (660)
20 in. (33,411)
22 in. (14,395)
24 in. (9,262)

So 15" is the most popular by far still and after that I should go to "dubs" and get some 20's. :Insane:

Wow, other than the oddball 19", I'm surprised by those numbers.

It all makes sense why I can't ever find any good used 16's on CL, lol.

My son found these last night and went after dinner to pick them up.
No information on the net about them, but I am thinking they are American Racing wheels.
On the back there is "AR 81/82" cast into them...

This will make for the fourth set of wheels and tires we have for the truck.
But I think these will be the ones to stay on it.
Junior ordered a set of center caps for them today.
In total we are into them for $158, or less than $40 each wheel so far.
We still need new tires and lug nuts though....

Use the steel wheels on the rocks in Disney Oklahoma, those military tires have stiff sidewalls, but conform nicely.

The others have daily duty. Woods/mud, that kinda stuff.

Yep, those are "Outlaw" wheels. If they had all the little round holes in the face, they would be called "Outlaw II".

I've got a lot of 8 luggers, but it's all similar to what has been posted already. Aluminum Outlaw II's, narrow stock steelies, wide stock steelies, and some Jackman "wagon" wheels.

Any 8 lug dog dish hubcaps???
