Spent the afternoon at the PAP last week before the storm blew in. Needed a wiring harness for a factory radio for the CUCV. Got that, a pair of dash speakers, some rear speaker brackets for one of my pickups, and found a set of knobs for my radio.

Also picked up a decent pair of front turn signal lenses, a rear license plate bracket, a trailer wiring harness, and a horn button for it.

While digging around I came across a early 70's pickup that I never noticed before, and grabbed the dash bezel out of it. It also has a decent grill that I may get the next time I am there.

Well it's not from a U pull it place, but it is a trade. One of the members from a facebook club I belong to needed a fuel tank. I had one sitting around taking up space, so I gave it to him. It was nice to meet someone face to face, and look over his project he just got. Crew cab dully. I told him if he ever wants to sell the mirrors I'll buy them. He said you just gave me the fuel tank, let me get some tools, and we can pull them off. He doesn't like that style of mirrors. So I think I scored. I'll probably sand blast them, and powder coat them in Super Chrome. They were my favorite price FREE

Usually called West Coast mirrors. I like those style over the Square towing mirrors. Now you just need to add your 4 inch convex blind spot mirrors.

I had the day off Friday so Junior and I went to the local Pick N Pull to see if we could find the Edelbrock RPM intake he left there earlier in the week.

He thought we were looking for a white truck and so we walked all over the place trying to find it.
Turns out it was red.
Much easier to find that way.

This is the truck that junior had pulled the Flex A Lite fans from as well.
So when we got to the truck I looked in and immediately started searching on the internets as I was sure I had seen some casting number gold.

Sure enough we hit paydirt!

First thing was to pop the hood off and get it out of our way.

Then I had goober get in there and start removing all the intake bolts.
They were all pretty dang loose.

Here is what I saw that got me to interweb searching...
I recognized the numbers right off.

Those would be a set of World Products S/R heads.
Aftermarket heads from the junkyard, not so bad.

Here we have in the engine bay to deal with.
We have to remove the headers to get the heads out.
There is a tag welded to them, might as well check those out as well...

The headers turn out to be $215 new, so I bought those as well.
They can be used somewhere.
They were made for a 90's TBI truck, but they will probably be able to be applied in 3 of our cars. Max's '55 or my '54 if I put a small block into it instead of the big block.

Naturally they wanted to fight coming off, but we prevailed.

Passenger side removed and here you see inside the engine.

Here you can see Max and my buddy Nacho taking stuff apart to get the driver side head off.

Stupid power steering bracket would not budge as there is a hidden bolt behind the pump pulley. So it all came out as one piece.

I used a flat blade screwdriver and a hammer to cut the top of the power steering pump tank off.
Bolt removal achieved.

Here you can see the driver side had a slight issue as the piston is missing something...

I looked at the head and there does not seem to be any issues with it other than a small bit of aluminum that is stuck on the chamber of that head.
These will be run through the machine shop before being pressed into service again...

Some other stuff we pulled.

Full set of decent 3/4 ton hub caps.
We may keep these for the snow tires and wheels.
We may clean them and sell, who knows...

I pulled these two dash panels as they had perfect radio sections.
But after adding up what I was going to pay for all the other stuff I just put them back.

I did pull this AM radio as I figured somebody may want a stock radio for their truck.
This one came out of a 1977 truck.
Lemme know if you are interested...
