wife picked out the color for her car and my truck today, she's got a spice orange, like a bunrt orange for her monte carlo and mines a waterworld metallic, which is blue and from an 11-12 saab factory color. bc/cc 2 quarts of base, 1 qt. reducer, gallon of clear and quart of hardner, $180 not bad IMO. Same for mine.

May change mine not sure.

well my 88 is now officially going to be waterworld blue metallic, bc/cc. I got some spray cans today for doing underhood, going to do the firewall, inner fender wells(engine side) and backside of the fenders with it, the res is going to be done bc/cc from spray gun. I'm going to do doorjambs, inside the bed(minus the floor) tailgate backside and all.

It's a nice dark blue with some flake to it. I'll get pics as soon as I get something painted with it.

I did but it doesn't make 100% sense to me other than "rattle canning" under the hood. So I was just wanting clarification on the rest of the body. Thanks for hte concern, Biff! :slap:

I thought I had summed it up..

ok first off, rattle can yes, but actual paint that you use in a spray gun, acrylic enamel mixed at the body shop supply store, same as painting with a gun just in spray can, not no cheapo crap.

Underhood yes, inner fenders, backside of the main fenders, firewall, etc.

The actual bottom of the hood, and ALL the rest of the outside panels, as well as door jambs(unless I have enough spray can left for the jambs ONLY) all in base coat clear coat sprayed from my paint gun.

I'm only using spray cans underhood so I can do it here, and not have it torn apart elsewhere, and it's easier since the motor aint coming out to get a spray can in there then it would be a paint gun.

I can't paint at home thanks to some nosey old bitty who lives in the next alley. She called in on me for doing dad's truck. This time I'm taking the truck elsewhere to paint.

not real sure on what color the hood hinges, fan shroud, MC and booster are gonna be, but the frame is staying black, getting redone, engine staying orange, radiator support might go blue aint sure.

Thanks for the summary, Swims :waytogo: sounds good :) I rattle canned my underhood too with duplicolor Black and it turned out nice! I like it cuz I can touch it up at anytime for FREE basically. It's loads better for a driver than having some professional do it then be paranoid about keeping it clean and worried about chips and stuff :)

actually after looking back on yours it's really close to the same, mine may be a bit bluer, if that makes any sense, for me, your truck, I can tell it's blue in the light, but it's sorta grey or darker looking somehow when not in direct sunlight or something, maybe a green or greyish tint or something, and mines just blue, although in pics of the saab's it looks the same, that greenish or grey like color.

here's a link to pics of it on a car...

gotta scan to the bottom for the blue car, top pics are grey ones.

that pic seems alot different from yours, but in person seeing it today, seemed alot like your color, maybe it' a tad lighter or bluer is all.
