Another Score! The Holley, GM licensed floor mats arrived today. I know I'm not the first to try these. Once again, I'll give this product an A+. They fit great, are heavy duty yet flexible, and look very "period correct." With the new black ACC carpet and LMC seats, I chose grey over black as the interior was starting to look like a Black Hole.
I saw those floor mats and immediately went to look for them. $129! Holy cow. It’s nice to have something period correct but that much for molded rubber.

That said, I spent 400 on the LMC tach kit so I’ll shut up.

I should mention, LMC also has the Split Back Bench Seat that bolts right in if that's ones preference. Either way, I can attest to the quality for the price. Brackets for both are backordered but no way would I pay $300 for a bench seat bracket that's nothing more than about $40 in angle iron.

Update: I got the seats "mocked up" in the proper position. Now I have to transfer the measurements from my 2x4 jig to a metal bracket. I'm loving the room I have to create a custom console. I'm thinking cup holders, secret compartment for the 45, and other nefarious intentions. I'm going to have to do something about those hideous seatbelts now. Domino effect, it never ends!

They need to be charcoal or black. The aftermarket ones are inferior to the OEM. They lack the plastic cover for the retractable mechanism. I have already cleaned the belts with soapy water and a scrub brush. I'm hesitant to dye the belts. I'm afraid of them bleeding dye and getting into clothing. Disassembly of the belts requires sewing them back together that requires a DOT certification. Maybe I'm overthinking it?

No, I think you’re exactly right which is why I asked the question. Dying is not real doable in this situation and aftermarket belts are subpar at best so that’s why I asked the question. Could always search for an appropriately colored OEM belt set. May get lucky on eBay:shrug:

TKCR on the other site gets great praise for her job of freshening up the factory belts. Have not personally seen her work but I can say I have never seen anyone have anything but positive feedback.

Update: Slow progress, other shihite to do :(.

Gutted and welded the OEM bench seat brackets. They serve the foundation for the "rack" that the buckets will bolt to. I did NOT want to drill holes in the floor! Just so happens, there is 1 inch clearance between the bottom of the OEM brackets and the floor, perfect for 1 inch horizontal cross bars. Even more amazing, the floor contour is flat and horizontal across the trans tunnel so the horizontal brace lays perfectly flat and supported without the need for vertical supports. More to come...

I built this an put universal sliders on top so the seats were independently adjustable, not that anyone ever moves them lol.
Same concept I'm doing except using the stock sliding brackets as a mounting point. What seats have you got?

Currently have a 40/20/40 out of an 08 silverado. That's part of why I wanted them to adjust individually so the "console" stayed put. I was worried it would hit my shifter an it does. I'm going back to a 96 60/40 though. The 08 seats are nice but to thick in the backrest for the C10. I'm going to transfer them over to my dually I think. The 60/40 was perfect before, I just wanted the bigger console with cup holders but it's to cramped for longer trips.

Update: Found an hour to work on this today. I used some existing 1" round, .095 tubing to make the two crossbraces. Since the OEM bench mounting brackets will bear the weight this is plenty strong. I mounted the brackets, squared up the tubing and tack welded them in place. Removed and welded them up. I think these are going to turn out great. Strong, simple and easy to install & remove. More to come.
