Howdy. When the PO removed the headliner in my 87 Suburban, apparently they yanked it out and so both interior dome light fixtures had the plastic splintered. Ironically, the lights still work, just bulbs and wires hanging down. Since i have to get new fixtures anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good LED replacement out there? I figure if I have to start from scratch anyway, might as well upgrade. I appreciate any info anyone might have. Thanks,

I used LED replacement bulbs in my car when I replaced the dome lamp lenses. LED bulbs don’t get hot like regular old school bulbs, I didnt want my new lenses to get the typical burn marks.

I used LMC's kit that comes with the LED bulb and the more clear lense.

If everything needs replacement, I’d use the LMC part. Looks good

I bought an LED bulb from SuperbrightLEDs.com and just installed that. Keeps a fairly stock look, except that it's a little hot on color temperature, so it looks a little blue. Doesn't matter much with my interior though. The housing was in rough shape internally because of the heat of the incandescent bulb. But it's not visible from the outside.

I do like the look of MisterB's replacement though.

Makes the headliner look much better too. ;)

Another vote for the LMC kit. Got it in the back of my burb with and LED bulb. I got mine off of ebay, just search for whatever part number it is plus LED. I generally buy the ones with more SMDs (surface mount diodes) That way if they do happen to go bad you still have most of the bulb lit. Havent had any issues across all of my vehicles with this practice.
