Least of my worries are the intake, my tailpipe looked like a Nuclear power plant discharge tonight, and for the past few months with stinky ass burning/vaporizing antifreeze rising into the sky. About a quart a week or so is disapearing.

Are you sure its actually disappearing. There is a big misconception about antifreeze level to many people. You're radiator is not supposed to be full when cold when most people check it. Antifreeze expands when it gets hot, so it goes into the overflow. If your overflow tank has a hole in it, or your line from the radiator to the tank has a small hole in it, if its still a sealed system, it can't draw the coolant back into the radiator since its done by vacuum. So I'd say if its staying within an 1 1/2 to 2 inches to the top of the radiator cap, that is normal. So fill it up. Take it for a normal drive getting it good and hot to normal temp for several miles. Let it cool and check your level. Then call that your normal point, and check it regularly for awhile. If its staying at that same level, you're not losing any.

Sorry to hear about the news, 89Burb! You've put a lot of work into this thing just in the last couple of months that you've been on here! If you get a new burb but a different year are you going to request a name change??? :)

It almost stops burning the antifreeze when the radiator is filled about half way, if I fill it further than that, it really starts to stink and burn A/F. And this frigid cold weather here really magnifies the issue. And I can hear water moving in the heater core when I pull out or go around a turn. Fukin POS. Pissing me off...

Intake gasket r&r

Remove air filter assembly. Wing nut on top holds everything on. Be carful with stove pipe under snorkel, older ones can rip and break/bend very easily. Pull intake tube out from port on radiator support and remove. I also removed the threaded rod going into the throttle body for the wing nut so it's out of the way.

Next, remove PCV Valve and EGR module vacuum lines. They both are on the front of the TBI and shoot to the pass side valve cover area.

Next remove charcoal canister vacuum line. It is also on the front of the TBI and shoots to the drivers side radiator support area. Just curl it and stow it out of the way.

Now move on to removing the air cleaner base and breather hose. This and other palstic hoses can be brittle from age, please use caution.

Next unclip the 2 fuel injector plugs. Again, be carful how hard you squeeze the tangs on the plug to remove it as they are very brittle and can crack. As you can see the wires run out of the TB thrugh a U shaped rubber grommet. Slide the grommet out of the TB housing.
