Next remove the distributor cap and rotor. The cap is help in place with 2 small screws. They have a phillips head on them and also can be removed with a 1/4" socket. I marked a line on the rotor shaft to the pickup housing to help aid in the reinstall, but later I found out that that housing can move about 1/8th of a turn back and forth, so be careful not to move the housing. Then proceed to remove the coil, held in pace with two 1/2" bolts. The bolt under the distributor end of the coil bracket can be broken free and loosened just a few turns, as the bracket itself is slotted for it to side out and you can leave that bolt there. The other bolt will have to come all the way out.

Next remove trans cable and throttle cable from the mounting bracket. I used a set of channel lock pliers to squeeze the tabs so they can come out.

Next I wanted to remove the fuel lines from the TB, but there is a bracket on the back of the left head holding them to the block. This was a real **** sucker to get to. It is a 1/2" nut between the cylinder head and the firewall. :flipthebird: :flipthebird: :flipthebird: :flipthebird:

And the bracket isn't slotted so the nut had to come all the way off....

Once that torture is over, you can break the fuel lines loose. Be careful removing them, there are o-ring seals on the ends of them you don't want to damage. Just as the brake vacuum line, these lines also require a 3/4" wrench and a 5/8" wrench. Also be wary of possible pressurized fuel in the line that can spray out. Use caution.

I'm not sadistic and I don't like that 89Sub has had these issues I just want to see it as I've never heard of those particular bolts breaking off like that. :slap:

I am shocked too, you figure the aluminum threads would have stripped out before the bolt got jammed and snapped. I had to grab a beer when that **** happened.

Next I marked the base of the distributor and the hold down bracket for position reference and also marked it after the hold down bracket was removed, which uses a 9/16" bolt.

Note my special bent tool to reach the bolt undter the distributor. :Moon:
