And you ever wonder why your truck breaks down?? You scared the hell out of it with those Ford parts and its gone on strike. You may need to give it some prozac or some other drug since it has an identity crisis with itself.

send me them valve cover gaskets lol. I should have got pics I was at my local advance today. As for the pcv take it and match it up. The pulley you bought should work if the belt is tight enough since there's about 2-3 inches of play on the tensioner. If you bought it for your vehicle and it doesn't fit then it's hard to say, but more then likely they won't have one pulled off the computer for you, you'll have to look at them yourself and match em up. I had to do the same for my 88. I went to non a/c and non a/c is 4 rib, where a/c like mine used to be is 6, I found a mustang 4 banger pulley was the right size.
Well I went back there today and they could not find the right size pulley. And I made a misstatement, this is the tensioner pulley I am talking about, not the idler pulley. The idler pulley is smooth and not ribbed and is 3" in diameter. Both pulleys ride on the smooth back part of the belt.

The tensioner pulley I initally was after, that was the problem. That is also smooth, not ribbed. The one they sold me was 3", and the one on the truck is 3 1/2" dia. So I took it back today and the only part number they showed for the tensioner pulley was the 3". I said it's wrong and thier fukin comps are wrong. Then I told him to look up and bring to the counter the complete fukin tensioner assembly. He did and it had a 3 1/2" pulley on it. I asked him to explain what the hell the problem was. He said, no, I can't.

He was dubfounded I told him to credit my pay pal back and I drove 1 block down th street to Auto Zone and the parts they had were spot on. And I bought the idler pulley too becuase mine is really rough in the bearings. And I measured them to make sure they were the right size so hopefully I am good now. I am going to slap them on tonight and the thermostat maybe if I have time. It's going down to 10* here tonight.

well honestly other then size or if they have grooves or smooth, idler pulley tensioner pulley same crap IMO. smooth or ribbed (for her pleasure) is the only thing that makes a difference. LOL. Should have seen the one for my truck is was way too big it wouldn't fit the tensioner. Around here autozone sucks and advance is alot better. I think I would have bought the tensioner itself, removed the pulley and put it on mine, then took the tensioner back LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly though should have tried the pulley to see if it would have fit and worked on yours. If so then you'd be set.

:roflbow::roflbow::roflbow: Just so long as she is happy !!! :waytogo:
I was thinking the same, not sure if that set up, but if its the tensioner pulley, Size doesn't matter, (except to her) or does it? As long as the pully applying tension it doesn't matter how fast the pulley spins? Am I not getting it? I haven't seen the set up to know if the pulley size would make a difference.

the tensioner pulley aint gonna matter much of anything in size as long as it fits w/o hitting the tensioner and the belt still fits. The added or reduced size of the pulley will effect if the belt is the right size or not, but mostly on a worn belt, you usually have about 2-3 inches of variation on belt fitment. I know mine did. if it called for an 88, I could run an 87 or maybe 86 or 89. or the half sizes. I actually am running a half size on mine because the stock size was not in stock. Now your other pulleys like the crank, water pump and alt, those may effect the operation like underdrive or overdrive. Don't ask me which does which I get it mixed up alot. As long as the pulley fits the tensioner and doesn't hit and the belt you have fits and works you are good to go.

Must be a head gasket or a crack. And a bolt on the thermostat housing jammed coming out and snapped, I tried spraying it and working it back and forth, but that bastard didn't want to come out. I center punched it and tried to drill perfectly, stepping up in drill sizes and the sunova bitch just kept walking off, no matter what I did. So besides the still burning antifreeze thing I thought I was gonna fix, I got that half assed repair, and it's weeping baby puddle onthe manifold. Very frustrated tonight, I should have just left it alone and drove it til it died, lot of cash and time pissed away.....

Or a good excuse to go buy you a Edelbrock TBI intake. But I didn't suggest that.
