SO OD does work now? Coming in at 55? If you've got a tall rear gear, that's possibly good shift points. Is this light throttle or mid throttle or full throttle shift points? They should actually vary depending on how hard you're getting on the skinny pedal.

How does your fluid look? Chances are a fluid and filter change aren't going to fix anything if you're fluid looks fair to good, and fluid level is proper. Sounds like the TV cable may been the issue.

Yeah, OK. Don't drive that things much until you get that foamy watery **** out of it. And you're going to need to do a complete flush, not just a pan pull and filter change. You're going to need to pull the return to trans hose off the radiator, drop it into new fluid, and a 5 gallon bucket on the output to cooler hose so that you're bringing in new fluid and flushing out the old. You'll do that with the motor running. And as it's happening, with our foot on the brake, shifting to R, then D, 3, 2 and 1, waiting a few seconds between each one to get all the fluid out of all the channels.

So after doing the fluid flush with a replacement filter the truck shifted fine but slipped between gears went to adjust the TV cable and now the shift points are ****** up again

check the fluid after you drove it? TV cable does not determine shift points, just line pressure. the gov in the back of the trans determins when it shifts.

Scooze Me !!! In a 700r4 the TV cable does too help determne shift points along with help from the governor. They work together. In a Th350, Governor, Vac Mod and Detent Cable work together. In a Th400 Governor and Vac Mod work together. This is why I like Th350's. Shift points are more tunable to your liking since you can adjust both Vac Mod and Detent Cable.

But you're right. The TV Cable on the 700r4 DOES ALSO regulate fluid pressure and this is exactly why it's very important to have it hooked up and properly. While it's helping determine shift points, it's also also realizing with more throttle pressure, more line pressure is needed to hold the clutch packs tighter and also helps speed up and firm up the shift so there is no slippage between shifts.

That whole line pressure controlled by the cable thing is confusing.

Ok so now my question is of I can't get the transmission to work right is there a 5speed I can put in its place with a transfer case and just make this damn truck a manual transmission because I'm sick of all the complications with auto trans
