Wait, Wait, Wait !!! You get help working on ****? I haven't had help working on a ******* thing in my life. But god only knows, I've been the one to run and help others. I have 1 good friend, that has offered to help me a few times, but I know he's busy as hell, and I won't ask him for help. And that's usually only on biz related things, not working on my trucks. I'm lucky if I can pay a neighbor kid to pump brakes while I bleed them.

You can drill a hole in the cab and tie a rope to the brake pedal, LMFAO!
I could but, I usually get my neighbor talking into it since, it's a GOING Truck, but not a Stoppin Truck, and being that he has 2 little twin boys that ride their bikes in the Cul De Sac, and 2 bigger boys that ride their bikes, I'd hate to go for the brakes and the truck keep GOIN, so he'll help me with that to keep his kids safe.
Sometimes when you need help, it's all about the approach and technique you use to get it.

That's not a bad deal sometimes and can turn into a Win/Win deal for everyone. Most trans shops charge $200-$250 for labor only on a trans swap around here. If he knows what he's doing, does it right and doing it for $100-$125, then you're getting a fair deal and at the same time helping them out if they're in need of the funds.

It just so happens he needs cylinder heads for his square body that I have so he is charging me top end gasket kit about 40 bucks and 50 for labor and I have the heads he needs hahaha

That's the way to do it. So you are selling him the heads you have too? So by the time said and done, he's probably doing it for a Head gasket set and the heads you have.

Exactly the plan
Many times that is the best way to do things. Gets good parts in the hands of those who need them and keeps them in circulation and sometimes, guys don't really have the funds to pay for labor to spare, and sometimes guys need parts they can't afford.
