Went to go start the truck and lost all power to everything but the starter so Friday I'll be tearing into it once again

Just get a click, and everything went dark?

That one sounds easy. I think there is a 10ga wire that comes off the starter to the fuse block. There should be a fusible link to it, and it's probably blown if lost EVERYTHING but the starter. The starter gets it's power direct off the bat cable. EVERYTHING else is powered off the fuse block.

That may be the wire I'm talking about too as a matter of fact. Which every wire it is that goes to the fuse block, there is a fusible link within the wire.

There are both. That alternator fusible link is the one that died on mine. I had a in line blade fuse but it kept heating up and losing connection and it would kill the power to the truck. I'd go out and wiggle the fuse anr the truck came to life. So I just direct wired it and phuckit. The big 3 upgrade should help greatly with that issue.

I double protected my circuits when I did the wiring for my TBI swap. Fusible link from starter to junction box, and then fusible links out of the junction block to the fuse block and alternator, and then individual fuses for all the circuits I added, fed from the junction block with a master 30A fuse.

I dislike fires.

No doubt, and even if it's not a true fire, I've seen over half a harness melt down until it broke free from the heat. That guy got lucky. But yeah, even damaged wire alone is enough to justify over protection. I prefer fuses too over fusible links. If I ever replace a fusible link, a 10ga inline fuse holder will go in it's place.

OK, I wasn't losing my mind. His will be the one between the starter to the fuse block though. That's where the fuse block gets its main power.

Yeah...really^^^^^^LMAO...are you looking for a fusible link?
If so, look at the firewall to the left of the brake booster wher there is a little 2 bolt block with the large gaige red wires coming in and out. there should be a fusible link. its isually a barrel or cacoon shaped black plastic block. It may even be down at the starter. Make sure everything is clean and tight too.
