I picked up this digital tach and placed it in the ashtray. Fits great. Only thing is the blue numbers in the dark are very bright. So, I just close it when it is dark. Not the greatest, but will work for now.

Could you apply some window tint film to it to help tone it down?

Well see my tachometer is screwed and double faced to the front of the " A " pillar. So it isn't affected by the door slamming or not. It's fixed to the a pillar with the 2 screws and double face tape. But I was only able to set up with LED inside light is lit all the time the engine is running?

I like your work. Line of vision. This is what makes a rig unique.

Possibly but would be little difficult to cut tint to size then may not be enough or worth the work. So, I just close ashtray. No problem.

It was a major PITA to install, and the first one they sent me didn't come close to fitting. I ended up dealing with their supplier (a one-man shop) and he sent me a replacement. It had a couple issues, but I made it fit and work. Can't recommend it, though.

Unfortunately the gentleman that made these for GMSport passed away recently. The gauge is indefinitely on back order.
