That's how my pick n pull yard is normally too :( by the time they've made it to the yard they've usually already been stripped by someone and most likely the parts already listed in CL and eBay :( I wish we had a good yard around here.

:happy175: And that was the only thing I seen in there worth taking pics of. There wasn't a big selection of squares. No 4x4's at all. No K5's. Only one Burb, it was a 91 and had an E instument cluster with Trip Odo. I was going to grab it too, I think only $10, but the trip odo would not reset when I hit the button, time was a crunch and cash certainly is too so I punted on that even. Nothing like power mirrors. I checked them all for hydro clutch, A833, Power Mirrors, etc. Nothing but the common goods and they were all stripped down pretty good.

How much do you want for one of them thar' Jeep shafts?

I'm gonna be running here in a few minutes, but don't let me forget about this on the shafts. One of them for sure I'll use, maybe 2. I ended up selling the one I had set aside for the 84 C20 and still need o for the 85K10 or whichever other 4x4 transpires first.

You'll need to change the steering column if it hasn't been already, you'll need a 1978-83 column. Fine time to add a tilt column too.

Thanks for the info, retro! Maybe I can put this on the list to get a tilt column, early gmt400 steering wheel, and jeep shaft mod all at one time :)

There were 5 in a row at Budget Wrench (I don't want to take a sale away from HR though...)

There were about 20 out there yesterday.

You being closer to him than me, go for it. That will keep shipping down and you might even get them cheaper than me since you flirt with that chunky blonde at Budget Wrench. Just tell her she'd beautiful, then she'll blush, then tell her you want to tongue punch her in the fart box and I bet you could get them for half of what I pay for them and be able to sell them cheaper.

There's a guy on another forum that sells them for $65 shipped in USA. I sold the last ones I had for $60-$65 shipped on ebay. Seems like alot when they cost $12 +tx, but that's including, heating with a torch getting them separated. Cleaning them and painting them. With tax by the time you have $13 in it, $14 for actual shipping, cost of paint which works out to a $1 each shaft and the $2 fee to receive PayPal payment, a guy has $30 of his cost in it. By the time you figure your labor to pull it, torch it apart, clean it in Solvent which is also another expense @ $6 a gallon, dry it and prep for paint, then 2 coats of paint and packaging, there is certainly some time invested, so a guy isn't getting rich or making a killing if he's making $30 a shaft selling for $60 shipped. I didn't even make that after the eBay fee.

I've been selling mine to G body and GMT 400 owners. I'd like to see the guys here get the best deal they can but whoever is chasing them down make a few bucks too since there is several steps and time involved. In my financial dilema I probably really ought to sell mine on fleabay and make all I can off of them, so if you can make a better deal for these guys here Retro, go for it.

How I ship them, is after they a separated, cleaned, prepped and panted, then I use a white or yellow paint marker, or white Avery dots to mark the orientation how they go together, wrap both pieces in a paper grocery sack keeping them from rubbing each other, but side by side, then they fit in a Medium Flat Rate USPS Priority Mail Box then add delivery confirmation so they have a tracking #.

I haven't been to the Belton Yard...I have another cashier down in Del Valle that loves me. She has a 1994 Olds convertible and I've helped her with it a lot.

I walked out with the 3 aluminum skidplates for my Blazer for $5.54 including the brackets. :evillol:
