Yes that's why I got them. The only thing I don't like is the middle does not fold down, but the price was right.

Interesting. The middle of mine folds down. I like it cuz when the kids aren't riding with me it's an armrest but if the kids want to go for a ride then it's a 3 seater :)

If it doesn't fold down, then he got the Cheyenne base model seat and its exactly what he called it, 40/20/40 seat but its not a split bench either. So when the driver goes forward in the seat , so does both his front seat passengers. Olds77's truck should be a 60/40 split bench where the driver can adjust his seat and not affect the other 60% with the fold down armrest.

haha!! If you were closer I'd definitely be anxious to help out. I really enjoyed it and learned a TON while doing it. We got lots o' jobs in the Mo/Ks area if that is enticing to ya and the Missus. :D

Is Nebraska close enough for you to help?

I went back and looked, never saw it mentioned. How well does the stock replacement carpet fit your flat (almost) floor?

Not perfect. You have to make some mods to the carpet to get it to fit right and tight. The good news is all the mods are under the seat so they are unseen but with the black color the mods weren't all that noticeable anyway. You can also take it to an upholstery shop and just have them lay the carpet and any reputable shop will be able to pull it off without issue.

ever put any effort or thought into the weld-in pans?

I need to do something different with my seat, Im using a rear bench from a late 90s astro van...

I really like the GMT800 seats and think with the integrated belts it would be perfect :)

Ill end up doing this myself if I have to (THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS AWESOME WRITE UP) but I was hoping you may have some pans already done where I just cut drill and weld :)

Thanks for your excellent work on this

I've often thought about doing that and making kits. Unfortunately I never have done that being just one man and no real QA processes :) I'd almost need a junk cab that I'd test fit each panel prior to shipping them since I'd have to hand fabricate each one and ensure proper fitment.

Let me know if you have any questions on this as you delve into this mod. I'll answer anything as well as I can for you :handshake: It's hands down my favorite mod on my truck!

How well do you think just the center console out of a newer truck would fit with 80's bucket seats? I couldn't tell from your pictures whether or not you cut legs on the console or the floor in the middle?

I would bet you'd have to do some modifying to the legs of the center console to make it fit but it could be done especially if you have some welding skills. Those legs are just metal and I could see them getting modified pretty easily to make it work.

That's what I figured. I have no problem cutting up the legs and reworking them. I was just afraid the floor was too high and even with the legs cut down the seat would sit up higher than the buckets. But I guess my Ram has a pretty good hump in the middle and the center seat clears that.

Dur, I guess I could measure both trucks since I have the center jump seat in my Ram. Lmao, I guess it is Monday. :insane:

LOL....There's definitely enough leg in those center jump seats/consoles to compensate for the hump. You should be good.

thank you :hands: yes, it's one of my favorite mods on my truck :) I could go on a long road trip in my truck and not even feel it other than a much emptier wallet because she's very thirsty

Great write up, has anyone tried this in a 2wd drive crew cab? The floor looks a lot flatter.
