Just like working the center and a bunch of sanding ...

I'm thinking of drilling a hole for a choke cable ... The SBC motor has a choke stove on the intake that been working well for years ...
Going to need to get a carb for the BBC motor, it may have a manual choke, don't have a clue what to use, but just in case, the cable hole will be there ...

... Dagmar's ...

The term evokes the prominent bosom of Dagmar, a buxom early-1950s television personality featuring low-cut gowns and conical bra cups. She was amused by the tribute. (She predates Madonna)

Found a carb that would fit the motor build real well ..

It's a Holley BR-67319 750 CFM Brawler Street Vacuum Secondary ..
Kind of up there in price, brand new from Bowling Green Ky.

I'm going to see if I can run up on a used one, that might be hard to do cause these hadn't been on the market all that long ..

I might outta wait on drilling a hole in the firewall for a choke cable ..
This puppy comes with a electric choke ..

Called Holley and asked if it was available with a manual choke .. ?
Nope only made with the electric ..

Trying my best to low-ball this motor built ..
Doing pretty good doing so ..

Here's how that's going ..
I had a set of front bumper guards off of a 57 Chevy pickup on my truck for years, being I went to the "Dagmar" guards didn't have a need for them any more .. Just sold them for the same dollar that the new intake cost .... Cool Beans .... That deal was a wash !

Next deal was a carb .... Found a Holley 3310 750 CFM, vacuum secondary, electric choke, square bore on the cheap ...
Fairly close by ...

Used but not used up !

Next was a set of long tube Headman headers ...
They are hi-dollar new ...
Got a bit of work to do on em cause the collectors being sawed on ..
I should be able to repair them with a little work ..
(We'll see how that goes)

Decided to get it running as is ...
With only 71,000 miles on the clock there should be a lot more miles to see before a rebuild will be needed ...

Make sure the intake you get matches your engine heads. 3 different port sizes for a BB Chevy plus a tall deck set, (Med. truck engine)

Rectangular port:

Oval port:

Thanks ^

Heads that's on it are the peanut port ..
Found a set of 049 oval ports .. They are going to see some work done to em before swapping the heads (O/S valves, stem O.D. 11/32", bowl, ports and chambers work, springs matched to the cam grind)

The intake has the oval ports ... When the head work goes down it will be port matched to them ...
