Front Sway Bar

I bought this front sway bar to go on my 73 which is a 1/2 ton. The sway bar I bought came off an 87 dually truck. Will it be to much for my truck?

Im told never go bigger on the rear then front bar.Except I had a Chevy long wheel base Van 1/2 ton,I put 1 1/2 ton rear bar on it (larger then front bar) Handles great.

that is a 2WD sway bar. if you are 4WD, it won't work.
