Wait, I just re-read your post about the paint. Which deluxe scheme are you referring to? The bottom color comes up to the same spot but the finish of the door jambs may be slightly different. My truck is the bottom Exterior Decor PackageThank you for the prompt response and pics.
This is correct. My understanding is that GM painted the secondary color with no masking, then masked with butcher paper and sprayed the primary color. To some extent the masking job was up to the guy with the paper and tape that day.
I asked my 85-year-old friend, who has been an autobody man since his late teens, if I had my doors right. He asked if they both closed and if there was wind noise. I told him that the doors stay closed, don't rattle and I don't hear wind noise over the exhaust. "Then the doors are good enough", is what he told me...If asking about the door alignment it appears close enough to me. These trucks were not built to the same standards as vehicles today. Panel alignment during assembly was not great.
Wow interesting.This is correct.
Additionally, the stripes had a clear mask over the top of them. They were applied directly to the primer and formed the top border of the two tone.

I have pics, but the body side molding is in place. Not sure if that will help.I like those wheels better than your steelies, which look great too.
