Keep your eyes out for a couple 465 passenger side pto's or a saganaw 3 speed and they are yours.

Not alot of progress this week. Gathering parts for the masters and finding and ordering steering parts.
Did redo this tube where the above will mount.

Bein how I'm pretty well self taught in near everything I do, have always said "everything I ever done, I done for the first the first time I done it" This is my first race car, and sure wishing for some experience.

Id figure they are all the same? Need one for a 75 truck.

PTO's are gear matched to the different brand and model transmissions. If Ted's PTO was matched to a 465, it will work fine on yours.

Need to set the gear lash when you install it. After you bolt it on, with the PTO shifter cover and fork removed, you can check the lash. You need a longer extension rod on your dial indicator. You can easily make this if you don't have one.

With the indicator mounted to the PTO the rod needs to reach in and rest on the PTO input gear. Rock the gear with your finger and read the lash. Should be .006 to .012". Change the lash by adding or removing mounting gaskets.

PTO set too tight will wear out trans and PTO bearings. Set too loose the PTO will chatter.
