Could be 250 or 292, both were available in the C20. The 292 was used up to 1991.

I bet those 292's are torquey. I had a 283 in my old '65 and that thing could wind up and run all day at 4,000 rpm's, I wouldn't try that with a 292 though. Maybe 3,000 rpm's but not 4,000.

Still very restorable and for 2800 that's not a bad deal if your plan was to restore back to "like new" condition since it seems to be pretty complete :)

Yes, with the long stroke, the 292's are quite torquey. I spun a small journal 327 to 7,000 rpm with ease before and that's a standard 2 bolt main engine. Just that it was well balanced. I'm not talking just a stab of the throttle once or twice. I'm talking all the time, just about daily and in 1st gear and 2nd gear with 4.56's in the rear end.

Back then GM had a 305 V6 :waytogo: Good motors!

Not so sure it's over priced either. If it looks as good in person, price seems reasonable.
