oh good lord! I would love to have some OEM doors. Mine are fine but they are definitely reproduction steel and OEM would just fit so much better!! I'd like the bed to maybe do something different than what I've got going on right now with my bed Oh well, hopefully they make it to a good home who can appreciate it.

It's like 700 miles from KC to Austin - less than 9 hours at 80 mph. If the prices are reasonable...don't wish and lament, just go for it.

Rent a 10' U-haul box truck. Pick it up Friday afternoon when you get out of work. Pull an all-nighter and drive down to Austin. In the morning load the parts and go.

You'll be back in MO late Saturday afternoon (with a clean fleetside bed and two OEM doors).

U-haul box trucks are a outstanding deal. I just turned in a 20 footer. They let me have it for 7 days with 300 free miles ($.29/mile over that). Base price for the 20' truck for 7 days/300 miles was $144. I used it (among other things) to pick up this 87 OEM/NOS cab:

I think they somehow undercharged me, but even so - you should check it out. I'll bet you could rent a 10 footer for about $300. And that's even paying for an extra 1000 miles - if you return it within 24 hours.

Holy crap! Where did you manage to find that gem? It even has nice black seatbelts.

Nice truck. Says it's a 454 but those valve covers look like sbc to me and strange that they're perimeter bolt when an '89 should be center bolt. Another thing is a 1 ton shouldn't have air injection on the exhaust manifolds.

It appears to be a BBC to me. And for a 89 Cali Emissions truck, I wouldn't be surprised if 454 had an AIR pump on it. Pretty certain it will also have a Cat Converter by then too.

Ill second that and you can see the air tubes going into the exhaust manifold.

Oh yeah. Sign me up. Almost 10 grand and he's not even going to clean the leaves and crap off the cowl to take a picture. I'll bet it'll be sitting for quite a while longer.

Seriously... mine is custom not silverado but I think the price I paid for mine ($500 or 700, don't remember) was much more reasonable than that!!

If you say so it must be true, but those valve covers look narrow to me. The heavy duty trucks usually had less emissions equipment than the 1/2 tons. Even my Cali spec 3/4 ton from the same year didn't have air injection.
