I need a set of r-4 a/c compressor brackets for the driver side of a big block with a long water pump . or if there is someone that knows of a bracket that will work let me know . I just don't want to change everything up and have a 508 compressor and lines on it I am trying to keep it all GM under the hood. thanks in advance if you have a set or can help me out in any way

Do you have any pics? I have BB A/C brackets, but they are for the big compressor.

I have a ac bracket off of a 350...its the upper bracket (curved slightly) that attaches to the block on the drivers side. Its for the ac compressor that you have a pic of. The bracket has a curved notch in it that the compressor rotates/slides in for tension adjustment. It should be the same used on a big block. There is also a bracket (that I had a tough time sourcing ) that bolts directly to the compressor. I unfortunately dont have any of these.

In the pics, its the larger bracket on left side of compressor.

thank you smooth but the small block brackets are not the same as the big block how and where they bolt to the head is not the same . I have found out that these brackets were only made for 2 years . in 84 they used the a6 compressor then 85-86 the r4 v-belt compressor in 87 went to r4 serpentine belt and brackets . sooooo they will be as hard to find as a honest politician:bawl:

It appears that the bracketing you are looking for - to mount an R4 compressor on a big block - was only used in 1989-1991 and only on 1/2 & 3/4 ton 06's (Suburban & Blazer/Jimmy):

Looks like this bracketing will be available only in junkyards.
