It'll be fine. I had it happen to me when I was 15 and rebuilding the 350 for my '56. It was the last one I was replacing, thought I had a good system, but that sucker fell in and I could not get it out no matter what I tried. It somehow got wedged. Not wanting to admit to Pop that I screwed up, I quietly moved on and that engine never overheated, never had any type of cooling system issues whatsoever.

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually trying to talk myself out of or into tearing the TA apart. Thinking of putting the truck in there and tear it down, engine swap, paint who knows, or get more done on the TA.

The T/A is already in the garage, so that's the way I'd be leaning!

More stuff happened, mostly because I'm cleaning up the garage so I have room to work on the 350 for my daughter's truck.

This self-adhesive heat shield stuff is some pretty neat stuff, so long as it doesn't fall off later. It should help with header heat near the fuel line.

Then the whole shebang got slid under and lined up for the most part.

If nobody swapped it out in the past, it should be a 3.08 gear. I've never popped the cover yet.

Tonight I got the subframe into place. I started by raising the rear into place so I could mark where to cut the trans tunnel, to install the new Hooker shifter hump.

I neglected to get a picture of the aftermarket shifter hump, but it's large. As it turns out, it's not large enough. With the subframe bolted firmly in place, the trans is TIGHT up to the tunnel, even after making some relief cuts.

I severely underestimated how small the 2nd gen trans tunnel is. I'm going to cut out a good chunk of the forward section and fab my own, then weld in the shifter hump.

But, the subframe is now installed and the car has an engine and trans again! I loosely hung the core support and fenders just so I could see what it looked like as a car again.

love it!!!!!!!!!!

been working on the TA again myself, ordered more parts as well. I've also done more interior on the truck, need to get pics and/or vids.

It looks like the wiring harness is now (or always was?) in the car? I may need to refference some of the interior plug ins for the TA. I did get the underhood harness figured out for the TA just need some ends.
