700R4 Information Thread

i spot a post 1990-1992 dipstick.
That could be retrofitted but it also could have come with a reman or a replacement 700r4 in the early 90s

The previous owner of my k5 said the owner before him owned a transmission shop so I’m sure my transmission has been replaced or rebuilt at least once. Everything is covered in nearly 40 years of oil and dirt, I haven’t been able to see a reman sticker.

Nick, do you know if the 700r4 in the square bodies works like how the 700r4 does, or the 4t60e, where grounding the ALDL pin for the TCC makes it lock up

Good question, unfortunately I'm not sure as you're really asking an 'electrical' question as opposed to a transmission question and I'm a fish out of water when it comes to electrical!
