This is what happened to one of the two spring compressors I bought new a few days ago. I was meticulous about tightening each one evenly, though my springs required almost 5” of compression. Just as I had secured the last strut’s king nut, it let loose. Fortunately, I had a heavy carhartt laying over the whole assembly to shield my from a catastrophic release of energy such as this. It blew a two inch hole through both layers of carhartt, but was caught in it before flying out. Could’ve been bad.

These aren’t a tool you want to buy for $50 at Napa, lol!

Jeez Jeremy, Thank God for Carhart!! Gonna take em back to NAPA for warranty or money back?

I agree gmt400s were the last good lookin chevys.
THe GMT 800s weren't all that bad and I liked the interior redesign of the 2003's but didn't care much for the cat eye front end. So 2007 is when they went to **** for me.

That's a cheap China spring compressor tool.
