It was basically a sporty appearance package and included a bunch of options that were not standard on the base Firebird. It got you the higher trim level interior, the added insulation, the lighting package, gauges I believe, aluminum wheels, the special hood, the T/A smoked taillights and some other standard items too I think. A friend of mine knew all about them, but he has passed on recently and I can no longer ask him about those things.

But besides the hood and taillights, you could get every other option on a base Firebird.
How about HP? Are they good in that department too?

Nothing beyond the low output, LG4 305. Just like a regular Firebird. Although if paired with a 5 speed, it's still fun to drive imho.

A 305 automatic is still more fun than a V6.

I posted the photo of the burnout in front of the house and a buddy said "Oh man it only leaves one."
The response was "It still does V8 thing and a limited slip is much easier than a engine swap."
It may only have a 305, but it still is fun to drive.

I also told her, she owns any tickets she gets with it.

Exactly, still a v8.
I put a stock tune port roller 305 in my 83 regal G body and it will light them up from a stand just stomping on it on hot dry pavement lol R4 trans.

Even with the 700R4 and 2.73s they're fun cars. Good highway cruisers. I loved my '85 IROC. LG4, 700R4, 2.73 peg leg. It's a good thing it didn't have a posi or more power, I woulda killed myself lol

Very true. They are really all fun cars, some are just easier to get in trouble with.

Wow! It's a Firebird S/E! It's one of those things that's extremely rare, but not necessarily desirable due to the rarity. But one things for sure, you will probably never find one of those hoods again! That's really cool.

My buddy that I spoke of, he bought an '86 Firebird new, in the same gray color. He ordered it and got all the cheap options, but none of the expensive ones. It has a very strange combo of options. It has gauges, S/E type interior, block heater, locking fuel door, HD cooling, HD suspension, aluminum wheels, rear spoiler, etc... but has a rare stripe-delete and it doesn't have roof rain gutters (apparently they were expensive). It has the FI 2.8 v6 and a 5-speed. He didn't order the v8 because he originally planed to swap in a Pontiac 455 when the warranty was up. But that never actually happened. The car has 300k on it now, still wears it's original paint, but the body is extremely rusty.
