    The idle circuit is independent of the power circuit in the carburetor, you may have crud somewhere.

    I did it the other day. Everything came apart easily, no rust just failed sealant. Cleaned it up and used some brush on roofing sealant.

    I was pretty sure it would be a matter of getting the right combination of factory parts and bolting it all together. If it involved a crossmember swap I would be less inclined to do it if for no other reason than the added time. Time to look for a factory parts catalog!

    Cheap fuel tank switch mod.

    Mine is a bit weather-beaten, but so is my truck! I did take it apart because it was not functioning. I cut through the plastic welds holding the switch together, cleaned the gunk out, reassembled it with a dab of silicone grease. It now functions perfectly. Don't be afraid to take your switch...
