Yes I agree panel bonding is stronger than welds.its been tested and it's easier and faster than welding

Crazy, but this is the first vehicle in over 40 years where I have! Usually it is around a window or a rubber seal...

When I say everyone I mean everyone with a square body, not just every car.

I've had several squarebodies that didn't leak a drop from the entire firewall/cowl/windshield area. Only three so far that did leak.

Well is that 3/5? Still not good odds. And if you had those trucks today would they still not leak? There are several factors, climate, salt in the area, was it kept in a garage or a shed the first 20 years so it slowed the progression was it parked under trees and allowed to plug up and was never cleaned out?

I think it's safe to say most to all will leak at some point?

I use it all the time to fix cracked dashes, shoes, and even my Laptop.
(I picked this out of the junk bin at work because it had a smashed corner/shattered screen).

This stuff is great.

Sounds interesting,I’ve used it on fiberglass ( Corvettes ) but not on metal replacement panels.

Currently, yes 3/5 I guess. I still own the 3 leakers, several non-leakers have been sold. I see your point about those ones maybe leaking now.

But I'll also point out, my 3 that leaked, two were just a windshield gasket and the other was the fresh air vent seal.

I had a leak around rubber grommet for wires going thru firewall. That someone did not get it seated in all the way. Also some surface rust around fuse block....dunno how that seals......

Any good automotive seam sealer will work u just have to find where it is comin in.i just went though this wth my 84 cleaned old caulk from firewall and cowl panel. Applied 3m seam sealer. Where the vent is on passenger side u have to stick your hand up and follow the seam down and seal it cause it will run down and sit under the heater core seam and and Eventually rot a hole in the seam. So I ran a bit of sealer inside the vent where the water comes down from the cowl. I would check the seam behind the heat box . Good luck

on the bed, did you run tape along the seam or did you just free hand it? I'll be doing this in the next few days is why I ask.

Probably used the seam sealer in the tube that you apply with a caulk gun.

Hey. Has Anyone used SikaFlex or Evercoat panel adhesive? 3m and SEM are pretty pricey.

Have not used sikaflex, but have used the west system 610 I think is the number for pre thickened adhesive in a tube. I used it to fill the holes on a tractor bucket that we took the hard edge off of. Still has not leaked or broken out, 5 years later.

Me too. Cab corners and below the trim on one box side.

It's been 13 years and still looks brand new.
