LS swap transmission choice
Using the Advaced Adapter between the 4L60e and the mount in front of the NP208 will give you a very reliable VSS and allow you to keep the cable speedo out of the xfer case. The dampers that change airflow from floor to dash to defroster. These are vac controlled. The old truck should have had a “black ball” connected to a vacuum line between the engine and passenger side firewall. Without that vacuum source, you vents will only blow out the defrost I believe. I don’t see a missing ground preventing the engine from shutting down. Plus there aren’t any grounds coming through the bulkhead. Did you already make a bracket for the old AC compressor? Is that the old 75 pound compressor that takes 75hp to spin? I’d swap it out for something like a Sanden. They take like zero hp to spin and are rated for atleast 6000rpm. Not to mention all the nice brackets and fitting available...- wlwarnke

1986 c10 Steering column. does it matter what trans you have? going from TH350 to 4L75e
I’ve done several swaps to 4 speeds. It will use up all available column stroke but it has always worked. Like another user mentioned. LS swap transmission choice
Factory shifter should work just fine. Won’t need the PN switch as it was built in to your column. TCC brake switch should already be there also. With the VSS before the xfer case, your speedo won’t be accurate in 4Lo but Tranny will shift normal.- wlwarnke

LS swap transmission choice
I used the advanced adapter for VSS when I swapped to a 4L60e. Makes the 6 bolt ass end of the 4L60e look just like the 4 bolt 700r4 and adds a speed sensor. Kept the crossmember and everything in its original location as the 4L60e was like 1.5” shorter and the adapter measure 1.5” thick.- wlwarnke

If you are getting power on the orange test wire (just hanging under the dash) then externally, the trans is being sent a lockup signal. With the truck off, ohm this wire to a good ground. Alternative A/C Test Methods
If your test ports are vertical(ish) I like to fill them with liquid to look for bubbles. I have fought those damn schraders a lot. Even new ones. Usually have to depress them a few times with a screw driver (be gentle!) to get them to seal up. -
