    1985 Stepside fuel hose,help

Many Napa stores carry the fuel rated hose. Granted, it only comes in straight and by the foot, but should work. Just need the ID

    What oil should I use?

It sure looks nice! On the positive end, if engine & trans are good, it doesn't take too much more to make them run well.... unlike the sensor & module driven modern junk we have today. Plus old school things can be modified, made to work, etc.

other vehicles besides my '76 Silverado 454

Those are some sweet rides!! I'm in love with that regal... unfortunately mine was a brown color. I always wanted that GM Blue color!! You keep them so perrrrty!!

    What oil should I use?

It's cheaper to get concentrate coolant & dilute it yourself anyway.

    What oil should I use?

This is correct. This way it doesn't contaminate the new parts.

    Bucket seats installed

This is true... but even the skills of today probably wouldn't help much on that thing. Definitely grow in experience & knowledge just about everyday! Besides the engine..... the wires, plugs & the individual coil packs or points are almost unrecognizable to what we have today or even 50 yrs...

Oh that's badass!! Too bad about the model A too. My buddy has a model T & I love that thing! Literally sounds like "chitty-chitty-bang-bang".... that damn thing has so much character!

Nice tanks! Sure don't make 'em like that anymore! The Deville, such a comfy ride too. Had a 85 Regal, 87 Monte, and 9? Olds 98... such great rides!! Miss them. Would love a 50s or 60s ride. Or model T or A (no booING or hissing lol)

    Bucket seats installed

The accident scenario is the only reason I'd have them... If I ever upgrade my bench seat, I'd like low head rests... just high enough to keep my head from banging the rear window, but low enough not to bother me peripherally. I'm always looking around, using mirrors, & moving about... too...

    Bucket seats installed

I have never been able to use a head rest while driving, ever. I'm too worried about being too comfortable and possibly passing out on long trips. Only 1 of my trucks has a head rest built into the bucket seat, but the other come to think of it is just a bench without the headrests. I find...

    What oil should I use?

Flush it all out.... use straight water, drive around for 20 mns, & re flush it. Keep doing that until you get most of it out. Hopefully it's just a lesson learned with that stop leak crap. Do not use anything that has a stop leak in it in the future. This goes for oils, a/c freon, tires, etc...

    700r4 Issues

Lol... this is true. It's just the guys that do transmissions for a living, allegedly, and they can't verify an exterior cover? I'd be scared of the rest of the build for sure. In this case, the governor has a lot to do with the shift points too. Maybe they're overloaded with work, and...

Rattle in oil pan below 700rpms

Maybe look at some other components, such as the carrier bearing for driveshaft (if applicable), trans mount, etc. It is very possible that something else just happened to go bad at the same time. Could it be possible that it just feels like it's happening at lockup and not directly related...

    700r4 Issues

Yeah, and it's not under high pressure. Just a load of BS. At least they took care of it... I wonder what actually happened. They're covering up for some other mistake they must've made. Something they overlooked.

    700r4 Issues

I recall the 350 having a clip but I don't see how that'd apply to the 700R4...Like I said, they tapped on and the 700r4 shouldn't need it, although the caps are interchangeable. Hmmm, on the shudder....and while hot only. To me it points more to the VB area, but I could be wrong. I'm more of...

Rattle in oil pan below 700rpms

Yeah, that registered after I posted. I can't think of anything in particular with those exact symptoms. I just started throwing out ideas. The only other thing that comes to mind is the flexplate & its weights. But I'd think you'd feel it in the lower RPM too. Or the torque converter...

Rattle in oil pan below 700rpms

Trans bolts torqued to spec? Everything lined up ok? Driveshaft misaligned somehow? You didn't have to mess with too much to replace the plate... or trans mount not tight?

    700r4 Issues

I've never heard of nor seen a cliip for the governor cover on the 700R4. It may have an Oring at times but either way, ALWAYS tapped on with a hammer. No screws, no clip. Not even on the governor itself. I smell BS, but if it turns out working properly from now on.... who cares.

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

hahaha...good call. I'd have loved to work for VW back when they had the air cooled ish. Those things were little tanks!!! The fact you worked on them for a living made it much easier to own. Not too many independent shops like to work on those... at least not around here. I agree, those...

How about the negative camber thing they got going on now too?? Oh geee wizzzz! On low pros & riding on the edge of your tire.... yeah!! I can't stand that! It's their money though. Piss it away on what they think looks good!! smh :whymewhyme:

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

Heck, even on cars, I think it's the dumbest concept. Around here, in the city, there are potholes everywhere, construction zones, debris in the roads.... just asking for a flat. Often times, that is the case. Then the new rim becuase it couldn't handle a pot hole AND the overpriced low pro...
