Is there a different make or model vehicle wiper arm that we can use to mod our squares, the kind that fold up in the air for a ice or snow storm for cleaning and such? Anybody pondered this or played around trying things? Think there is one that will match the mounting posts?

The ones on my 92 fold. Not sure if the shaft sizes are the same.

What I could find has different part numbers. So I still don't know if they would work. Sorry. They are probably a different length.

I wonder if the stock arms could be trimmed or modded to fold out? Maybe taking some metal off where it pivots at the base? I'll have to look at mine closer later.

You could put something between the blade and the window, maybe as simple as two small blocks of wood or rubber per wiper.

Retro can probably tell us if any later model pickup wiper arms will fit a square.

All good stuff, I would have thought Retro would be all over this one. I think I have the wiper arms from the '89 laying around I can play with when I find the time.

I haven't thought about it but I am going to the junkyard next week so I'll see.

I pulled a pair of GMT400 wiper arms today at PAP. I will see how they fit shortly.

ya i would assume length would be the issue bc the squares have short windshields.

Any clue on how to speed of the wiper motor also while we are mod'ing these?

The GMT400 arm closely matches the mounting stud. It slides on about a 3rd of the way then stops. That's about as far as I got with this.

Ok. I'll be paying attention. I've been trying to think of ways to improve the wipers on these trucks.

You have my attention on this one. It's always a hassle when washing my truck.I have had other GM trucks that the wipers would flip up making it convienent to brush off the snow.

Any new progress? Or suggestions of other vehicles that may work? Ford windshields are similar. Maybe a 90s model would fit

I have not worked on this yet but it is in my plans to tinker around with it. The arctic blast slowed things down. And any time I got to get out in the garage I been doing a major clean up. I might take a look this weekend and throw up some comparison pics and measurements so we can brainstorm together.

Ya its been nuts here in PA. Just been brainstorming ideas to improve the wiper system all around. Faster, bigger coverage area, and flip up arms.
