Why You No Hood Emblem?

So I always thought that all Silverado C-10s had hood emblems. My 87 does not have one so either I'm wrong or I've got an aftermarket hood. Not that it really matters but does anybody know for sure?

Has anybody seen any type of template to drill holes for one?

Any aftermarket hood emblems out there better than LMC or Brothers? Or are they all the same

Does anybody know the factory emblem color for an 87? Seems to be tan.

In 87 it looks like the hood ornament only came with Diesel Package(B3J), Exterior Decor Package (ZY5), and Big Dooley Package (ZY9)... doesn't appear to have anything to do with Silverado or C-10.

my 1978 cheyanne has it. but it has zy5(notice the stripes on the hood) and is well optioned when new so i figure ornamewnt was par for the course

Opposite end of the spectrum here. Growing up my family, friends and neighbors never had any squares with hood ornaments. I've never owned any that had a hood ornament and the only friends I know that have squares with hood ornaments are on here. If a square with a hood ornament joins the heard I'd likely find a funky old one from jcwhitney or just take it off and leave the nub.

I actually find it kind of amusing that the only two vehicles I've ever been involved with that had hood ornaments were mom's Mercedes and the pickup truck. There's some kind of irony there.
