I'm wanting to see if there's hope for me... I have a pair of 12's boxed..with an amp I used to run in my 92 ext cab Silverado..

Seeings that I'm 6 foot 220, I need the seat in my square all the way back :Sumo: But I want some beat in my truck.....

Wondering if a cut-thru is my only option?? Any advise fellers???

Are they 12's too deep even if you mount them at the bottom of a wedge box?

You'll need to find a shallow sub (built for that kind of application) in order for it to work. I used to have a setup similar to what you're wanting in an S-10 I use to have and I had Fosgates behind my seat in a "truck" box. It was a pretty shallow setup but I still had to move the seat up a notch. I'm 6'2 so I know what you're facing with needing leg room. You'll just need to shop around for a good, shallow sub and may even need to build a custom box for it. I definitely would NOT do a pass-through but that's because I don't want any part of cutting up the bed and cab just for beats....

Actually even just one good 10" sub will do very well for that small of a space  ....especially if all you care about is you're own personally listening pleasure rather than people hearing thumping as you come into the Gas 'n Go :D

HA!! funny thing. I used to be that guy who liked it when people at the Gas N Go could hear me coming... LOL ... I used to can set off car alarms, once upon a time with my old system.

I've simmered down quite a bit though....:)

But kinda missing some beat.. I just have 6" in the doors, and 6x9's in the back with some wack boxes.. that sound worse than old pay phone earpieces.. They're Pioneer 2 ways... but the little ones in the doors sound way better.. I need fatter gauge wires and better boxes.. but I just used what was there when I got the truck..

i rock 1 12 behind my seat and even with a shallower box i still have my seat up 1 notch. Its like a 450 watt sub and its so plenty.

THE JL AUDIO MICROSUB ENCLOSURE!!!! I have one of these boxes behind my seat on a Phoenix gold sd600.1 and it freakin pounds. It's two ported 8w3v2's and I could not believe this was just two 8's. Best part is, my seat is all the way back! The subs only require .3 cubic feet ported, and it gets after it. I had a single kicker tc10 box behind the seat (one ported 10), and the MICROSUB obliterates it. Get one. You will love it.

you could always just make one like i did. I have 2 Sundown SA-10's (6" depth). You'll have to excuse the mess, I'm in the middle of redoing the interior.
