So I was planning on doing a clip and cab swap on my truck. The donor truck has a rusted out passenger inner fender and the passenger fender has been hit. My truck has good inner fenders and core support, so I'm ditching the complete clip swap. It's my understanding that I'll have to remove the clip to swap cabs. Correct me if I'm wrong on this please. Would it be easier/less time consuming to swap fenders with the clip off or on the truck if the clip has to come off either way? I've never undertook something so massive with body and frame before.

Yes, you will have to pull at least the front fenders, inner and outer, to swap cabs. Sounds you will be piecing things together, probably just as easy to completely disassemble the front components.
