too many options out there for replacement mirrors for my ‘79.
I Want to get the chrome or stainless replacements. my truck came with the tiny sport mirrors and I can’t see anything with those.

I want to be sure that whatever I get is all metal and not plastic. all of the reviews i am seeing seem to be very inconsistent with all the different brands. Many are saying poor fitment, or poor mirror glass, or they are all plastic.

Get the Stainless Don't know if it's ok to name suppliers here cause I'm new here so if a moderator, or if someone knows That would be appreciated. There are a lot of places but prices vary greatly so you have to shop. There aren't really that many manufacturers, but a lot of distributors.

Name whatever supplier you want. Same thing goes for links to threads on other forums and such. It's all about the trucks and their owners here, if it brings a little attention to other places too, so be it :)

I got a set of cheap ones that look okay but haven't installed yet to test quality. Naturally the originals are the best. The G series van uses the same mirror so it gives more options when buying used originals.

The G vans have more of a swan neck mirror post, but yes, identical other than that. Plus, in the mid 90's, they had a power mirror option that retains the look of the regular mirror.

Yes. I forgot about the power ones. Cool option for upgrading.

The biggest difference in them is the textured black trim ring that surrounds the mirror glass. There was also a 90's Dodge power mirror that look identical to squarebody mirrors other than the mounting base, which would need swapped. However, they are chromed plastic and not stainless.

That's what It was . The dodge one! Thanks for the refresh. I had a 94 dodge ram with those and noticed that it had electric chevy mirrors on it from dodge. I thought that was cool.

I had the G van mirrors on mine, biggest issues with them is the wing window hits and they sit out of level slightly.

I bought the LMC stainless ones for my resto

I've got a pair of the Dodge mirrors, a pair of the G van mirrors and also have a pair of factory '90-'91 squarebody power mirrors. I always intended to use them, but at this point I'm doubting it. I probably should just sell them so they can go to a good home.
