Bumping the old thread as I want to replace the driver side flat and passenger side barely spherical mirror with 2x aspherical so that I can finally see cars that I'm cutting off when changing lanes :) The glass is held with an adhesive? What's the correct way of removing it without breaking? And is left and right glass shape identical, or slightly different?
All I've ever seen is flat cuz that's what they had from the factory. I have 3" spot mirrors on my truck and they work perfectly for getting more vision without making the whole mirror a wonky convex

I have similar spot mirrors, but I bought too small ones, 2". When searching for larger ones I found that you can buy actual aspherical mirror glass for square body.

If replacing the glass, just adhere it to the glass that is already there. 3m 2-side tape (the automotive stuff with a red backing) will do the job just fine. If using a convex mirror glass, you'll probably want to double up on the tape in the center, with a single layer around the perimeter.
