Where to get pre-bent fuel lines?

I’m in the middle of replacing the gas tanks and sending units in both tanks on my dually (91/454). Not surprisingly, the rubber lines are in need of replacement, too. The hose that is all rubber is easy and a no brainer to replace.

My question is, where do you guys go to replace the hard lines that have rubber ends crimped on? I’ve checked about 286 online places and no one reproduces those lines for a squarebody crew cab dually.

If the hard line is still good, your local auto parts store can crimp new fittings and rubber line on.

Also, I've lived in 3 different states and I've always managed to find a portable guy that visits shops/ dealers and makes them on the spot.

Good idea. My local O’Reilly can make hydraulic lines so I’d think they could handle these. I pay lay them a visit tomorrow.

After getting a set from Inline (and regretting it), I bought coils of line and a bender and made my own. Was a cinch really and I'd do it again.

Nope. Tried each one of them and nothing. Lines to go had lines from the fuel filter to the engine but not from fuel filter to the tank switch valve and no lines that go between tanks

And you were successful in crimping on rubber line where needed?

You talking the ones at the tank sending units? I guess I'm unfamiliar with the ones up front on an FI setup. My own is an aftermarket FI so I custom bent the lines to the firewall and then will use an AN fitting to attach a rubber line between it and the motor (so it can move while running and not stress anything solid).

Yeah, on my dually there are lines that go between tanks and then go from the tank valve (that switches between tanks) on up to the engine with a filter in the middle. The lines that go between tanks are hard lines with rubber ends crimped on. Those could easily be replaced with just soft lines but then the lines that go from the valve to the front have soft ends crimped on at the valve but then are hard lines all the way to the front. Hopefully that makes sense

Yep - mine had those rubber lines but they were just clamped on (I imagine because they were carb'd so lower PSI ?) - I replaced them with FI hoses and the 360* FI clamps. But yep - just bent them all. IIRC there are 3 different sizes? (maybe 2?) My mind is soup.

Found an old pic of what was there, and a pic of the new stuff, but gotta get a closer pic of the new setup at the sender.

2. I wish mine were all clamped like that rather than crimped. I think you’re right, tho. Probably due to higher psi of FI requiring the crimps in certain locations

On my 2005 I replaced the fuel lines with the nylon/plastic/hdpe/un-obtainium or whatever that material is. Just a thought.

The frame and tank are fine. Is that paint or powder coat?
