^ No idear, honestly.

Looks, parts availability, fitment within a body style, performance, not performance. Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason. Especially pickups. One would think the business end of a pickup truck would be offered with the most stability possible, for carrying loads. But there you have it, many trucks are narrower in back...

lol sorry no hood scoop. I had one on my last truck and it was a pita to see around. I wouldn’t mind a low cowl hood but I’ve got too many other sub projects to spend $500 on a hood.

I’m glad you bumped this thread, it’ll remind me to post new pics. I sold the tires and wheels in the previous pic, I’m swapping to 40” Boggers and beadlocks this weekend. I’ll post a new pic tomorrow.

@Rusty Nail here's a teaser pic, it was cold and rainy this weekend so I never pulled it out of the shop but the tires/wheels are on. The tires are new, the wheels are very used and a little rusty so I had them stripped / powder coated. I also attempted to polish the rings.

39.5 Boggers on 15x11 Trailready beadlocks.

1975 Sierra Grande - US Wheel 15x8 Slots with BF Goodrich KO2 33x12.50x15. Pro Comp 2.5” lift with added Pro Comp Dual shock steering stabilizer. It felt a little loose after the lift and tires that’s the reason for the steering stabilizer addition.

Mine had new 17s on it when I bought it. They are 265/70/17 on a stock K20.

Got a question: will Ford 8 lug rims fit Chevy 8 lug, with no issues?

Real old Ford wheels will fit older GMs. FoMoCo was the first of the big 3 to change lug patterns, maybe when the Superdoodys came out in 99?
GM changed in the last 10-15 years or so as well. I think GMT 800s were the last of 8x6.5 pattern. Had 17x8 Dodge wheels on our 02 Chevy in place of the pathetic narrow outdated 16x6.5" wide wheels they came with. GM center caps fit too.
And now Ram effed it up now recently and has a larger lug pattern on their duallys.
There may be 4 lug patterns now between 3 mfgs on new trucks.
