I want some new wires for the BBC 454 but, not sure what brand to use. Don't need 1k wires but, don't want cheap ones either. I've seen some on Amazon reviews said too short in some cases. Average $40 is about what I'm seeing for 8mm and 10mm. Seems a bigger wire would be better. Does it really make a difference between the two?

Let me know what y'all run and I can get a better idea of what I want. I want straight boots for the headers. I already have the heat socks to go over them too.

I'm gonna switch my distributor. So why not put new wires on too. Thanks

I have Taylor's on my big block in my chevelle. 90 degree boot is best for them. 8mm is good. Have had same set for over 10 years.

The Taylor wires don't look too shabby.

We are currently running a bastardized set of the MSD Super Conductors.
Last February before the plague hit, we were at the racers swap meet and found a couple of vendors that were selling partial sets of these wires.
We paid $25 total for I think 14 plug wires and a couple coil wires.
@Maxwellvis bought the correct boots for our application and put them all together.
While not perfect, they work great and all match now.

Once we put headers onto the truck all the ends will totally match as well.
I think there are a couple of the plug ends he still has the 90* boot on it for simplicity.

I run these same MSD wires on my VW Bug as well.
They are great at getting all the energy to the plug as my bug has a full MSD setup in it.
Probillet distributor, Blaster 2 coil, 6a CDI box, and the wires.

Maybe that's happened to mine. Need to check it out when I put new plugs and wires on.

I've got Taylor's on my boat engine for at least 20 years now and MSD's on DSUB.

Either set will set you back a "C" note at the very least but both have been outstanding.

On a side note, I learned a long time ago that you'll never regret spending extra for good quality parts. I can't stress that enough for plug wires.
