On the truck or off, 3rd / 4th photos are definitely widowmakers
yes, im just saying im glad it doesnt seem to have them on his because 1) that would mean finding new wheels 2) scary
The 2nd photo,.. i think may be one, without the ring, but it might be a normal one and i just have bad eyes

@JamesSam when I bought The Truck the tanks had already been replaced. The PO told me they re-used the fuel pumps.

Initially I felt that the RH tank must have a weaker pump than the LH tank but as time has passed I can tell no difference. You could have a switching valve issue, I am assuming you have not tried switching tanks to see if the truck runs better on one pump than the other.

I don't think dropping the tank is that bad of a job. Of course I have some jacks and things to help me.
Would a transmission jack help with something like that if a guy was tackling the job by himself?

Unless the tank is full it's not necessary. Would be helpful though, especially when bolting it back in. Would help when messing with the hoses too. But a regular jack would work as well, just to hold it.

Unfortunately I just filled the working passenger side tank to help with all the problem solving I was sure related to TBI electronics that live in and around the throttle body itself. Now it definitely seems as if it could be the old electronic pumps in the tank and/or clogged sock filters on the inlets to fuel lines. :rolleyes:

Started welding up the braces ended up using flux core since it's to dam windy not my prettiest but I did a few passes at least I don't have to look at them under the deck got dark on me and was having a hard time seeing even with a light maybe I'll grind em down and do a gas pass on them tomorrow lol
