I looked up my engine block 3 letter code. Turns out my 83 C10 has a 1975 350 rated at 165HP. It’s now power house. It’s definitely been rebuilt. I wonder if it has the original cam.
Found out my ‘82 c20 has a 1970 350. I love surprises!

I'll take this challenge, But It's a list of what I did since the middle of August. I dragged home an '83 GMC that had been in a shed perhaps since around 1988. Wisconsin Truck, so there are a few little holes but nothing major. 71,000 miles on the clock. I'm 65, retired just a few months earlier and this was a lot of work for one old guy ! While there is more to do, I love driving it. Wherever I go, someone comments or asks if it is for sale. Can't sell it... I'm over budget ! Image below is how she looks currently.

I have a visitor in for service! 350 with a quadrabog runs like **** over 8000 feet of altitude. Cannot pull the hills. (it doesn't fit in the shop)
Try rebuilding or adjusting it properly. No one has EVER made a carb better when it's tuned properly.

Recently I depressed the parking brake and the parking break light has stayed on on the dash. This is why I have avoided using the parking brake. In the past I have managed to get the light to finally go off but I cannot remember what I did. It seems like it is directly related to the parking brake pedal being so loose it pulls up just enough to make the ball sensor on the end of the line rest on the metal and send the light to the dash. I have looked in to a few things that may lead to this indicator staying on. The truck drives fine and brakes with no issues. To me it seems to brake with all four. I read about how the proportioning valve works but this doesn't seem to be what is sending the light on. Maybe someone with more insight on this could educate me as to how it actually could be within the proportioning valve. Again, the light on the dash only stays on after the parking break has been used and when released it seems to release all the way but the pedal drops back down just enough to set the light. I also have seen videos of people demonstrating going back and forth from auxiliary to on on the ignition column can clear it but on my 87 truck there is no auxiliary to turn the key backwards in to. Do I have a not original to the truck steering column possibly? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
While pulling the brake release lever, pull up on the backside of the pedal with your foot, this should make it go back to full release position & make your light go off.

Finally got around to cleaning out my shop enough to get the truck pulled in. I bought a truxedo cover for it earlier this year and also new high strength tailgate mounts. I'm supposed to be heading out hunting this weekend and we are in the middle of an atmospheric river, so I wanted the bed cover on before going out. So, after over a year of driving around with the bed loosly held together, I finally got the back of the bed bolted together fully and re-welded at the rear posts. Then pounded out the parts of the tailgate brackets that had gotten bent and messed up over the last year of driving around like that and then installed the cover. Turned out fairly OK and will get pulled back apart after hunting is over to fully clean/seal/weld and reassemble the bed before I undercoat and then raptor liner the inside of the bed.
