Got it back and here's the seem on the tank he fixed. Bigger than I thought and on opposite side than I thought too. It was dripping from the bottom of the drivers side of it. Lol

He said he could do a full rebuild with new tanks for 125. I wish I had some junkyards that had squares I'd go pull all the radiators and have him fix any leaks and clean them up and sell them. Since you can't buy new ones anymore.

Some patch stuff I got at Walmart to fix a hole and it's held up well. He said he could fix that too if it leaks. Also lifetime warranty if it leaks he fixes for free. So glad I found him!

@82sbshortbed that’s cool you have a local guy! Wish we had one.

As far as cleaning up, I’m not sure I would since if it is caustic enough to remove crud to a good degree, it might compromise it? Nothing behind that, just my thought.

If it were me, I’d just get it as clean as possible and repaint it. The one guy in town that used to redo radiators here in Bellingham swore by spraying them with asphalt paint- he told me it helps shed heat. Just what I was told, though.

Squirted some more orange peel, not a single bug to pick off the orange peel, NICE! This nice weather is perfect for making progress. Probably shoot the other side of “the doors” tomorrow.

I don't remember what thread it was that someone had asked about led cab lights. I've got both white and amber and they work well. Here's the light number and what it looks like.

Today, got back at the radiator project. I decided to try a flex hose for the lower hose since no one makes one in the stock form with a 1.75” radiator outlet. Got it all buttoned up, then the alternator wouldn’t play with the flex hose, not enough real estate. Since I have old camelhump heads, there is no accessory holes, so the aftermarket setup mounts the alternator low on the passenger side.

So, now I’m going to try a 1.5” to 1.75” adapter from the jungle website and get another stock lower hose.

But the Cold Case looks nice with the polished tanks peeking out from under the fan shroud.

While I was at it, I painted up a high flow water pump I got from @Geoduck and it looks better than the one left raw/rusty that was installed when I bought it. I also had reconfigured the temp sensor back to the intake manifold instead of the gooseneck.

The Doors! It will be a twenty footer and maybe a ten footer after a wet sand and buff. Spraying plenty of paint to flatten it out later. One knatt had to be extracted, paint didn’t lay down very well today for some reason?
