My headlights don't have all 4 come on when I put them on brights. This kit should fix that and make all 4 come on. 17 bucks on ebay. Took about 10 days to get here. Looks simple to hook up.

My 4 led headlights should be here tomorrow. If the weather doesn't keep being gay and rainy and cold af every day I'll see about getting them put on.

Well I got a couple things done today. I've got a autometer transmission temperature gauge that started pegging out the instant the key was turned on. Turned out to be a bad gauge, was about 4 years old, so I got a new one earlier in the week and got it swapped in today, all good now.

Windshield washers quit working. This was the last year of the mechanical type, built into the motor that chucks squirts of fluid onto the windshield. I wasn't looking forward to opening up the case on the motor to repair the washer, but I'm going over the pass on Saturday and wanted it working. Lucky, it was just a poor connection at the pump.

Hit all the zerk fittings with grease. New air filter.

New battery. Was thinking of converting to a top terminal battery but decided against it. Basically because I didn't have any extra time to spend on it, and my 7 year old NAPA battery was failing fast. So replaced it with a group78 ACDelco gold battery. Bought new battery bolts for it and coated both sides with of the terminals with dielectric grease. Should be good to go.

Repaired a loose ground for the RF turn signal causing the turn light to glow intermittently on the dash with the headlights on.

Replaced worn out distributor, the old one would loose 4 degrees plus of timing as soon as I opened the throttle and was getting worse.

Tried to get the ESC system functioning. Installed new knock sensor and module. Actually had it working for a few days, but after 3 bad remaned ESC modules I've had to call it quits until I can find a good unit somewhere. So backed the timing back down a bit so it won't ping and that's how I'll run it for this weekends work, It'll be fine like that as I've run it that way for years prior to this week.

Got some paint on the grille today after work. Man that Rustoleum Metallic Dark Steel is hella close to the original paint! I could barely tell where it was laying down. Went on nice too with no primer since it's a 2n1. Might sand back the cross bars before coat two to fill some of the minor imperfections.

@SirRobyn0 I think I pulled it out in like 10 minutes with hand tools so I didn't strip any hardware. The sanding though, that was hours. The tab repair was surprisingly quick once I found the right material. Hopefully yours is in better shape than mine. I also managed to throw some semigloss under the nose last night while I was hiding from the wife, her friend and the sister in-law. Great excuse to get in the garage!

I've had mine out to install the trans cooler, and then again when I installed the radiator and had to reattach my transmission cooler. The bottom tab on the passenger side was broken before the first time I took it off. Lookin' good, how did the roof turn out?

Decent. Small clear run that needs addressing, but otherwise good. Had the grill bars retouched when they did the roof, hence my current rehab project.

Why is all the prep sometimes not worth the final result, I despise body work, there’s nothing fun about it.

Drove out to the "farm" where I hunt. Not my property, but thats what we call it. It's a 50 minute drive.

Anyway, after the engine swap, I was leary of driving it out there to check my game camera that hasn't been online since early December. I waited until the engine and myself created a bond and a level of trust before we went that far :)

She acted fine for an old used girl. Got back....no codes.

I had to use the '87 as my Daily Driver last week because The Duramax was in the shop. The weather was typical winter rain/mist/fog nasty. I try not to drive the '87 unless the weather is nice but I didn't have a lot of choice.

Today the temps were in the mid 50s and the sun was out so my son and I gave it a real hand wash and dry.
